Hi all,

I have just acquired this:











It's an MY 1976 930 3.0 (stated simply as a Porsche Turbo on log card), first registered in Japan in 1977 and then on 31 March 1982 here in Singapore.

Cars here in Singapore are very pricey and older cars are very rare. I have been looking for a pre-1989 911 for well over a year now and decided on this seeing as it's a 3.0 and something a bit different.

The car needs a lot of work....

The obvious bits are they cosmetics, I am fighting a very strong urge to put the original look back together first but my head says sort the mechanicals out first!

It didn't run when I bought it a couple of weeks ago because the turbo was non existent! I have now fitted a new K27HF from UMW in the US and the car is nor 'running'. It has a dual core intercooler, SC grind cams, EFi controlled by megasquirt ECU, 3.2 barrels and JE pistons apparently giving a displacement of 3,164 cc and a compression ratio of 8.5:1 unsure.gif Also has boxster monoblock brakes and bilstein suspension and a brand new interior in a 964/3.2 style, very nicely done with Porsche embossed headrests but a tad modern.

My plan at the moment is:
1 - Tune the ECU for safe test driving use
2 - Drive the car as much as possible to see what shakes down (and because I want to drive it as much as possible!)
3 - Minor paint touches to see me through the initial stages
4 - Get the engine out and see exactly what we are dealing with
5 - Get the looks as much back to original as possible (with the exception of the rear spoiler as a 3.0 one wont clear the intercooler, and I might go for 16' Fuchs if I can source them to clear the boxster brakes
6 - Choose a new colour!! GP White or Guards Red currently winning the race in my head! biggrin.gif

The mechanical works are progressing well, I will be doing the leakdown this week to see if I need to pull the engine out at this stage.

My mind is again wandering to the looks of the car!! I have been searching the internet but can't seem to find the parts I need for a decent price. Does anyone know where I can get turbo impact bumpers and side skirts to fit, and a 3.3 turbo tea tray lid?
