Most R1200GS never see dirt.Guys use these for long hauls combined with rough secondary roads.I would think most guys want less complexity, I know even one old member here who sold both his 1200 to get away from the canbus.
After riding lots of miles on R100gs's, 1150 and 1200, a lot of it in single track I think BMW's line up of the 800 and 1200 to be a good strategy.Make the 1200 a more comfy long distance weapon that can do dirt and save the 800 for those who like to really go down the beaten trail.In the dirt the 800 is surprisingly good.
