yes, it's been a bit of an eye opener...and continues. we're having a big "monsters of motocross" reunion on halloween and i've been trying to prep the girl.
she's seen a friend in a wheelchair pick a fight with a security guy. she thinks steve stackable is the most normal, since he only jumps off cliffs with hang gliders and such. she's starting to see that if you break a collarbone or ankle on sunday, it's no excuse to skip your monday morning meeting. she thought hannah was normal (since his cute little plane was called a "Scout") until she saw video of him skimming the tires while flying down (on?) a river.
we were at a race recently, sitting in a friend's new motorhome having a serious technical discussion about the proper technique to do an e-brake 180 spin in a motorhome with a Tag dual rear axle.
i noticed in that meeting that she's stopped shaking her head. the disbelief has disappeared and now the assumption is that all those guys (and their mechanics) are just plain crazy.
this new attitude is a real time saver for me. lots less explaining to do.
