update on project 930:

took the cam covers off to replace gaskets to try to improve leaks and discovered:
-the cams are SC cams and not SC grind as i had originally thought - good news!
-all the rocker shafts were incorrectly fitted so had to get them out and put them bad in correctly - bad news, esp as due to the incorrect fitting they were a pig to get out!
-the cam timing was 4mm so it has now been set to 1mm - good news as the engine should run better
-RHS cam cover not cracked as originally thought (due to all the sealant covering the cover!), but some old gasket pieces found under the actual gasket, so once all cleaned should be leak free - good news
-cam chain drive shaft seal leaking - good news cos it can be easily fixed!

there were cheap spark plugs in the car which will be getting replaced with the proper bosch ones, i have a slight fuel leak on the tank breather which is under investigation and i am having al lthe rubber and jubilee clip fuel lines replaced with proper braided and crimped items for safety.

after all this i am really looking forward to running the car again - we're no where near done, but it should be a marked improvement!!!
