5 years ago I was growing to detest my job. Even thought I owned the place I hated it. There were days when I did not even want to go in and days when I walked out and went and hung out / vented on my mechanic friend.

Then the economy tanked, and I had to lay 15 people off over a 2 year period. Now its down to me and another guy, the best guy in the place.

I love my job again, no drama, no "who is mad at who", no who did not show up and we have to shuffle everyone around.

I think the best part is, I got up from behind a desk and went back out in the field, being a land surveyor in Florida, its not a piece of cake. 105 degree heat index all week last week. No problem. Hacking with a machete through the woods, no problem. Bug bites and rashes from underbrush, no problem.

Now that I am back outside (and inside too) I love it again. I already decided if it ever gets busy again, I am staying outside. I forgot how much fun it is.
