Only ridden 40 times and the rear derailleur wore out? Hmmm... I do 24 hour mountain bike races and probably get 2 or 3 years out of a rear derailleur.

An old MTB that needs work goes pretty cheap. Old MTB's, like old cars, tend to be behind in technology. Every component on this bike is old and could use upgrading. The 8 speed rear is a giveaway. Alot of older frames can't be upgraded to 9 speed as most 9 speed wheels are too wide. No biggie, the 8 speed stuff is still around. This bike is cool. Not light, not fast, but definately cool. Even with what is wrong with the bike, I would still pay a couple of hundred bucks for it just for the cool factor.

I'd love it at $250, would probably take it home at $300 and put a few parts on it for a ride. I'd just oooze cool riding this! If you are looking for a race bike, this has no value - just walk away. You'll spend more upgrading it than it's worth.
