I have an HP media Center desktop PC currently running Vista Home Premium. I called HP tech support about upgrading to Windows 7. They were less than helpful. The HP website was only marginally better.

So here's my question. Can I use an off-the-shelf Windows 7 upgrdade or do I have to use one specifically for an HP? i.e. will the generic MS upgrade package have all the HP bits I need to run the desktop as it is now.

Any help from the PC gurus will be appreciated.
