I don't recall what XM193 is for sure off the top of my head, but if it is 5.56, it probably would go thru it at close range or dent it severely. I will never know as I will only shoot pistols at close range steel.
I am going to bring home a chunk of approximately 12" sq x 3/4" thick mild steel when I think of it. I plan to hang it in front of a dirt mound at 100 yards similar to how my 8" plates hang. I doubt my AR15 will hurt it, but it may may booger the face up enough at point of impact that it would not be safe. I do know that my AR "drills" holes in 1/4 mild steel .22 spinner targets at fairly close range.
