as said your better off with full version rather than upgrade

go for a clean install every time

most software allows you to back up and create a restore or copy from a previous op system,

So here's my question. Can I use an off-the-shelf Windows 7 upgrdade or do I have to use one specifically for an HP? i.e. will the generic MS upgrade package have all the HP bits I need to run the desktop as it is now.

Any help from the PC gurus will be appreciated.
