The ship is the Saga Spray, under charter by Saga Forest Carriers, Tönsberg, Norge. It is owned by Scorpio Carriers Ltd, and flagged in Hong Kong.
Those photos were taken in 2006 after a wave had dislodged shipping containers enroute from Korea to Canada.
The structures you ask about are cranes; gantry cranes or straddle cranes. They are able to traverse the length of the vessel and are used both for lowering cargo into the holds and for stacking cargo on the deck.
