The biggie from Microsoft is a new comprehensive antivirus package they are coming out with. It's long overdue and will potentially solve the major issue with Windows platforms.
For me, I own a Dell that's a dedicated game machine and not connected to the Internet. Other than more/better games, I can't imagine any reason you'd want to own a Windows box.

Peripheral compatibility and ease of use is a big one. plug in a camera, any camera from any box store, and it's nearly guaranteed to work. This is amazing for the 10 year olds who just got a camera for their birthday, or mom and dad who don't want to have to deal with drivers and install packages just to share photos. Put in a printer, it works. Hook up an mp3 player, it works. Whatever you put into a USB port will be just that easy. That's what windows has over pretty much any other operating system.
