ditto on the chance for snow and salt the whole way
but you should try spending 20+hrs in a early 911...very pleasurable experience! but a little risky at that time of year. done a straight 16+hrs myself and felt better after than in my 2002 scubbie.
would love to take my 1970 911 on my annual turkey day trip from Seattle to SF NM, but the weather i have run into in the past makes the scubbie the only answer. plus the 6-9" lip getting into my folks gravel driveway a b!tch. the Seattle to Denver trip for my sisters grad school graduation does look inviting at the end of may.
