DAEpperson, yes, we fired her up and drove out to Flagstaff. That one has the 2-speed Powerglide, but even loaded, running 80MPH with the A/C on it still got 26MPG. We spent the night in Tucumcari at the "Blue Swallow" hotel on Rt.66. It's really a cute little place, and every room also has a garage! We would not hesitate to take any of our Corvairs anywhere. Wonderful little road cars.
