Hang in there! Your DSS does sound like a bunch of inept government workers. Here is Mid-Missouri they are so desperate they treat foster parents quite well. Don't give up on adoption. It may happen when you least expect it. We were foster parents to a little 2 year old girl we thought we would only have for a month. 3 years later we adopted her. And yes I will use any excuse to post pictures of her.
