I have experienced a few of these situations in Florida. In the last one, several years ago, I was on southbound I-75 between Tampa & Sarasota. Rain in literal buckets. Nil visibility. Lightening was hitting all of the cell towers on both sides of the road. Pulling over or stopping was not an option. With traffic all around, I had to keep inching forward following the emergency flashers of the vehicle in front. Later in the day it was reported that a tornado had hit & killed several people in a mobile park just to the east.
As for winter, sunny day whiteouts are pretty intense. I came over the brow of a hill at 70 mph one day into complete whiteout on a 3 lane hwy. Again, you have to keep moving or someone will smack you from behind. Just slap the 4 ways on & grit your teeth & hope you get through it.
