I assume it is important to keep the VIN with the chassis to maintain the provenance. To have a ‘65 and racer since new is an unusual find.

I recommend you fix the existing damage and not put a ‘front clip’ on it. The ’69 will be obviously different. Repairing it to be true to ’65 sorta (as much as a racer can) will add to the value and usefulness on track. This allows the opportunity to fix previous poor or inappropriate repairs.

Where is the car? Perhaps we have some local donor parts.

What are the rules for a LWB ’69? You may find that a better racer.
