You might have to work your way up to 1000 or even 1500 grit to get the same result. Sample the sanding on another piece if possible. You can get bits and pieces from a fabricator somewhere or a chip from the home centers and try sanding on there. Just notice you are in LA. Too bad I haven't install that stuff in a long time, if not i can get you a sample from my fabricator. They are in Glendora.
