my mother in law sells racing stuff at the cirlce jerk (trackss) up north. she is sending me some of the tie in belts to work with the bar i have.
i usually lock the stock seat belt. i lock it, then with some sucking in of the gut and maybe some help, i get it clipped in.
car is running best it has since i bought it. i just recently disconnected the vacuum retard, retarded max timing to the full advance timing mark, leaned the mixture out and now it pulls strong to the rev limiter.
with the retard connected, i was running very rich due to slight spark knock (if i used 87 oct fuel) and bucking at low RPM. i think the curve on my dizzy is wrong even though it was sent off and checked.
my timing spec is 0 TDC, i was setting it about 5 ATDC but the full advance was past the 30? deg timing mark. now i have full advance at 30deg, but my idle timing is about 7 BTDC. it makes for a lilttle harder starting, but it runs much better. no spark knock, even with 87 oct fuel. yes, some will scold me for 87, but 93 is just too expensive just to drive to work. i will use 93 for the AX.
i needed to be able to lean the mixture out because past 4k RPM it was losing power and blowing smoke due to being way too rich. i will get the LM2 back next week and verify the mixture, although i dought i will change it from where it is.
