Joe, have you read Richard Drury's "My Secret War"? If not, nab a copy somewhere... you will be very glad you did... mixed in with all the politics and BS of Nam, there is a lot of beautiful descriptive writing by a guy who obviously "got" the romance of being up in the sky all alone.
