My FIL is a huge fan. I haven't read any.

Let me just say this:

My Brown writes fiction. He writes very good, very entertaining fiction. I know plenty of religious people (like my FIL) that enjoy his novels because they realize they are reading some very complicated, often historically-based fiction. It irritates me to no end when people (either for or against) try to take his novels as "fact". Now, I understand that Mr. Brown is often intentionally evasive about the "truth" in his novels. I see this as nothing more than a clever marketing ploy, that works very well.
