A mechanic once told me. I've used it for years, other than a stint last year using Delvac, which did nothing but cost more. I use 10W40 in Florida year-round; I found I use less of this than the 20W50 that I used to use.
Any good brand will work; some will tell you [correctly] that synthetic will stand up to high temperatures better than regular dino juice, but I suspect that M28's that are not turbocharged/supercharged, or not used regularly on the track...probably don't need it. Synthetic oil has been known to cause oil leaks in older engines as well.
Then again...it is more stabil at higher temperatures.
Basically, with oil, use the grade recommended for your climate and then pick the brand that has your favorite color on the bottle. You won't go wrong-
