Well tough choice here.

There are things I like and dislike about both.

Front porch on the one you like is a +
Extra outbuilding is a +

The one your wife likes has better upgrades, kitchen, bath etc. a +
Bigger, trust me when you have kids you'll appreciate that. a +
It's a split, I personally don't like splits YMMV a -

Now what's interesting is the delta in price.

Either the one that you like is overpriced or the one your wife likes was upgraded beyond what the neighborhood will bear.

Lot sizes look the same.

I think it would cost you as much, probably more to get the one you like up to the standard of the one wifey likes as it would be ot add an extra garage even taking the diff in price into account.

I vote for wife's.
