I carry a knife, albiet very small blade, and never considered it a problem. In Cali, the only restriction on pocket knives of which I'm aware is that of a switch blade or knife. I see many construction/utility workers with knives in a sheath on their belts and never thought about it. I doubt you will ever be harassed by a folding knife kept in your pocket (unless the bulge attracts some female interest
)
