work force reduced.. but found a better paying job!

Funny how things turn out sometimes....
Wonder how my career outlook(and portfolio) would compare 5 years from now if I stayed vs ending up here?
I hope better.. but the choice was made for me!
Anyone ever thankful for being fired?
