Not exactly complete cars, but expensive parts:
Ford 427SOHC "Cammer" engine. Sold it for $12k a few years back and thought I made out like a bandit. Turns out the buyer got the better deal....
Weber 46IDA carbs - the 2bbl versions found on the 904. I had 4 in total i.e. 2 sets. I rebuilt them and sold them for a healthy profit. I didn't realize their relative rarity at the time and had offers for far more than I imagined.......of course after I sold them.
