BUMMER-clutch is going bye bye
Lately my clutch with 90k on it has been getting harder and harder to engage smoothly. Yesterday, I heard some chatter, and then it went away. This was on my way through the Santa Cruz mountains on Bear Creek Road--and it was the best time I had outside of an autocross!
Today, I could barely get 2nd, 4th or reverse gear to engage. oh well. My question is, is this usually the symptom of a clutch going away? The two times I've had the clutch replaced were when I totally munched the drivetrain due to youthful exuberance. I think this is the first time I didn't blow the clutch up prematurely, and am just wondering if it might be something else. I'd like to know what this might be before I take the car to Carerra Tech in Campbell @$85/hour.
It's a sport disc with lightweight flywheel, and I don't notice the pedal any closer to the floor or a sinking engagement point--just a more abrupt one.

221k miles and still kicks ass!!!
An Air Force Fighter Pilot was asked, "What's it like flying the F-16?"
He replied, "It's like driving a Porsche!"
