Each time, Boris would be super pissed off that i took away his toy mouse.
Now i saw him in the backyard, caught a mouse, horsing around with it... getting closer to the cat flap...
suddenly, he catches it again , walks to the cat flap with the mouse still alive.
stops 20 cm before the cat flap, and he just offed the mouse with one very determined bite.
Then came through the cat flap.
So the blood & guts part is not solved yet, but at least his lust for inflicting Death is.
Now i try to get the dead mouse before he starts messing up my floor, leaving me to cleanup the mess.
He's mental... he growls at me like a dog does... if he get's any bigger, i'll need to get a crowbar to get mice out of his grip.
And once the mouse is gone, he turns back to the regular affectionate Boris. It's really a Jekyll&Hide kinda thing...
So much instinct when it comes down to catching , killing and eating little animals. He's a good cat.

Our Daschund is a mouse eater. She does not have the hunting skills of a cat, but she has caught several mice. She came in the house with a mouse in her mouth. The tail of the mouse was sticking out of the side of her mouth. As I moved to intercept her from entering the living room she chomped down and swallowed. Mr Mouse was gone. Nothing to clean up.
