any computer tech guys have any suggestions?

im running windows 7 on a new computer. my wireless connection gets dropped about 5 times an hour. when i trouble shoot, the computer fixes the problem right away and i get a message that says " wireless adapter or access point unplugged or broken - fixed".

Thankfully i can reconnect without much effort but this should not be happening. im close to the wireless router provided from Roadrunner (about 20 feet away, separated by 1/2 wall).

I have a 5 year old Toshiba running Windows XP sitting right next to the Windows 7 computer and do not have this problem.

The specs info regarding the Windows 7 computer says I have this equipment:

--I have made sure the power saving options for the wireless adapter are set to maximum performance....so, im out of ideas and cant find info on the web anywhere.

any ideas or similar problems or suggestions? thanks
