It's been quite an ordeal and honestly I don't have much time to get into it. I'm extremely busy these days.
I'll just say (predictably) the move sucked. Got into an accident, the 911 suffered pretty extensive damage. Long story short is a guy fell asleep at the wheel on the I-10 and slammed into the back of me (the car trailer that I had the 911 on). Made a hell of a mess of things for me. If you saw the pictures of the carnage you wouldn't believe it.
Got stuck in a rainstorm all the way from NM to here. The rental truck wasn't waterproof. We lost a lot of stuff due to water damage. Naturally a long, drag-out fight with the rental company is brewing right now.
Good news is I did meet my "start" date and I'm back working (thank the almighty). I don't give a damn about cold, dark days, rain, whatever. I honestly haven't had much time to think about it - it beats being on an unemployment line for even one more day. I'm happy to be here. It's nice so far honestly. I'm more than okay with it.
I've got quite a litany of moving-related messes on my hands to deal with on top of dealing with a new job, new house, things to unpack, etc. More than I can get into right now but I appreciate the thoughts - it's nice to be loved or whatever I guess.
I'll be back on to share my stories when I get some time. Gotta' get ready for a seminar tomorrow night (side gig).
