Does your title paperwork match the state police VIN?
When a state issues a re-built title, they typically have an inspection and check the sources for all of the parts at that time.
I wrecked a 944 turbo, and rebuilt it on another 'salvage' chassis. NY inspected it, and made me provide receipts for all of the various parts before I could get a NY title.
