a local porsche shop had mentioned the ex-drug car theory becuase they could not find any obvious signs of a clip. I tried to contact the Illinois state police a few months ago, but the person I spoke with did not think there were any records available from 1984 that would explain why the car had a new tag. I would really be interested in the story behind the car. Not sure if there are other sources to find out this information.
