Next up is to get the new wheel bearing races installed in the hubs. All I have to do is figure out how to do that. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get the wheel bearing races pressed into a hub? The Bentley manual says heat the hubs to 300F and use the magic wheel bearing race tool and a press. There must be some other way.
heat the hubs and freeze the races. then use a bearing drift and ball peen hammer to set the races. the races will need to spend about eight hours in the freezer, a deep freezer works best. the hubs can be heated for about an hour to get them all the way hot.
