In the '70s 914s were a very common site in the Midwest. Unfortunately, however, the rust factor can not be overemphasized.
My first 914 , bought in 1976, had mild rust after its first winter, serious rust after its second--even though preventative measures were taken.
Most of the cars originally delivered here and in the great white north have been swept up into dustpans by now....
