Holy heck that's high!

We have a 3900 sq/ft 2 level house, me and wife with 2 kids, no AC, no pool, ceiling fans in all rooms, and our average SDG&E bill ~ $120. Lowest bills are Aug-Nov at $70 and highest are Dec-Mar at $150 due to gas furnace. Our home was built in 2003 and has copious amounts of insulation. I plan to add a house fan (attic) this winter to help cool the home during the warmer summer months. We rarely use the dishwasher but our clothes washer/dryer are running 3 loads a day.

I'm guessing your pool is the big culprit. Do you keep it heated year round? Spa? My BIL & SIL live a couple miles away in a 3300 sq/ft home, have 3 kids, run AC anytime the temps go higher than 80, and have a pool and spa they keep heated. From what they have told me their monthly bill is ~ $100 higher than yours.

Edit - I gotta check my last bill for the KW/hr charge.

What the heck? I know the kids leave the lights on, and the pool is a drain, but is this normal? What is everyone else paying? /rant off
