He doesn't really hit a five iron 220 yds, all the pros change the loft on their clubs to some extent. I'm not sure why they do it but it's legal and most likely it's to throw off the competition and a macho thing as well. I'm guessing it's closer to the loft of a four iron, which is still a good poke. He still hits the **** out of the ball.
