And the BAR has done nothing to stop MM or to help people who have been ripped off by them.
The efficient market is by FAR the consumer's best chance against companies like MM. In fact, these days, anyone who gets ripped off by MM, for the most part, IMO deserves it. They are an ignorant, lazy consumer.
Anyone who is going to agree to drop their engine off, or send it cross country, for a $10K rebuild, without doing ANY due diligence (like, umm, taking .002 second on a Google search) on who they are about to enter into this major transaction with, is not a responsible player in the free market.
Maybe people don't bother with any research, instead relying on the mighty BAR to save them in the event things go sideways. After all, with the largest, most expensive consumer auto repair agency in the world, how could anything go wrong?
