The answer to all your hesitations!!!

Hello to all....To day is a landmrk day in the progression and painstaking time spent on my 73 s targa with mfi. I just wanted to let all know that all the reading in thisd g-d forsaken board cannot and will not cure the "plague" when trying to deal with a poorly performing mfi system.

I have read countless yammerings over and over, kind of like a song in a loop, yet it seems that more often than not the gospel of the "so called experts" never bears the "real fruits" the could be acheived.

While I do beleive that it is difficult at best to diagnose a car over the net, it should never be forgotten that the principles are static, they remain the same. For example, fuel supply, spark, ignition timing and air flow etc are the main principles in the combustions process, yet several of these will impact on one another if not in proper calibration.

It has been my beleif that some of the "hot dogs", whom are truly intriguing in there words, sometimes lack the logic to post necessary information, merely allowing many members to keep chasing their tales.

It is to day that I have decided to make this statement due to the fact that I at times have been caught in the trance of following the crowd. Luckily, I have nto spent hundreds, or even thousdands as some of you poor spould have on my car, becaus if you really thing about the cause and effects of fuel, spark and ignition, you'lle find whatI have to day.

No more sputter, miss, backfire or anything of the like. It was never the dizzy, fuel supply or any other nonsense that you have come to read over and over again.

What brought me down this road was some recent work I had performed on a 72 bmw 3.0 cs. I knwo its not the same system, but I gave me some ability to get some perspective on another Bosch system. remember, fuel , spark, air.

I kept rolling over and over in my mind, what is the basic difference in the mfi system that plagues we owners v.s. carbs, and even some carb guys too, the one thing that I rarely ever see a suggestion to , that is air.

Thew dybnamics of the air charge is crucial, basically it is the only adjustment that has no real easily defined process for the amateur, too may peple make changes, adjusments to fuel and gintion related items, yet rarely tune the air velocity to match.

Upon relaizing that I myself had not paid enough attention to this, even though I have always owned a syncrometer, any and all changes in Pupmp tuning must be accomoanieds by a pass with the sych.

I know that I am not much different that many of you others, I have read many egaggerations of peple and there toils.

So the moral of the story, ensure that the basics are all in check in the ten commandments, and anytime you futz with anything, howevewr minute, pull out the sych. and if you haven't one, dont even bother trying to do anything without it, you might as well use a cig. pack to set your points.

Ta ta... I invite any and all remarks.......
