any of you guys buy chicken and beef straight from the source? bay area guys?
moving to the bay area has it's limitations. i used to go to this old man's farm, and help him round up chickens. he would let them run about on his pecan orchard. he sold me birds for $2 each. i got used to processing them..live bird to fried chicken is pretty cool.
the birds taste better, and i'm pretty sure better for me than anything from foster farms.. i also used to buy grass fed beef from a rancher.
here in CA, it is super expensive! $6.50 per lb, for the chickens. same price for the beef, but i have to buy a half of a cow. then pony up for the butcher fee.
i'm bowhunting, so considered "almost vegetarian" on that front. my bro is bringing me back my firepower, so wild game is gonna be easier. my friends have bought homes, so all the motorcycles i am storing are going away, and i am getting a chest freezer.
any bay area sources for cost friendly meat?
