no idea if the performance would vary with carbs. but i've got the stock FI in my 2.0.. swapped in the xr-3000 model a while back after the pertronix died on me (i personally would warn against pertronix, in case you were thinking about it).. i get strong spark, starts first, time everytime, cold or hot.. been pretty satisfied..
