Like I said, the satellite guys are the only ones broadcasting 1080p and it's still limited content, VOD and PPV events.

Direct TV boasts 130+ HD Channels. Since HD encompasses 720p, 1080i and 1080p you can't assume they are all 1080p broadcasts.

If they are really up to 100 1080p channels I might have to set my dish up again but I suspect it's not the case. 100 1080p broadcasts would be very newsworthy.

DTV's 1080p is also 24 not 60 so still not the same data rate as Blue Ray.

VOD is not a broadcast, it's a data stream that comes down to your receiver over your wifi.

And the diff between 720p and 1080i is negligible.
