Here is my 1996 Cannondale M300 purchased new at the Nürnberg PX. I rode this bad boy a lot in Germany, and the last time I looked in that purple bag I think there was still some DM change in there. Now it gets light duty at the park riding with my son on his bike.
You can tell I am hard core by the kickstand.
