Deceived by Tigerdirect.com
I generally don't slam other companies, but this is deserving. I am looking to upgrade my video card on my new HP computer. Call Tigerdirect just to check with my model the correct card. The salesman tell me there are two cards that would fit, both 1gb. One is $75, the other is $109, but with rebates and some software, it equals the same. When I repeatedly ask for the part number of the higher priced cards in the search feature of the site, it comes up with nothing listed. I keep telling him this and he offers no explanation. The other video card comes up no problem. I mistakenly take his word and place the order. Later when I get the order confirmation, (not immediately but hours later) I still can't check the card. This morning, I check again and the card is a 512mb, not the "identical" 1 gb card he was comparing it to. Also, the software that went with the card for $30 is just some throw away maintenace software like Ccleaner that you can get for free. He made it sound as if it was integral the the card. I called back this morning, demanded they send a return shipping order and questioned why this happened. Tiger Direct has a pretty long history, but this was so deceptive, I question who else this has happened to. I'll order from Amazon in the future.
