Salvage yards probably will be no help. If it is not a direct drop in swap, the interchange will say they are different. For insatnce, on a 4.3 Chevy, one year doesn't use a knock sensor, and the next year does. Since the boss isn't tapped, Interchange kicks it out, and doesn't say why.
