O.K. I got the lowdown. I stand corrected, 88-93, and 94 and up have a bunch of differences.Block and heads are basically the same, but you have to swap over a ton of stuff, camshaft, timing cover , upper and lower intakes. possibly some engine tin. etc etc etc. . I think the firing order is different, and you will need the older cam to drive your mechanical fuel pump if you are still carbureted. Still 375 is a good deal for a short block and it is an old style american v8 . Probably take me a day to change over all of that stuff. If you have two engine stands you can steal from one motor, while you build the other. Doable, but adds to the project a little.
My guy said that the 88-93's are getting a little harder to come by these days.
