I can sympathize with nostatic. I was brought up (read: trained, programmed, etc) to value and preserve money at all cost (no pun intended). Even though I've been fortunate enough to have had some financial success, I still struggle with having so much money tied up in a toy sitting in the garage.
I was "between Porsches" for a few years and searched for a long time to find my current 911, but I still consider selling it just to take the cash out of the car and put it back in the bank where it belongs. It's a logic vs emotion conflict.
My wife gets frustrated with me sometimes, but I point out that if I were "cured" and spent freely on all the things I really want that we'd be broke in no time!
Nostatic, if you're considering therapy, let's do it in a group setting and save some money!
