Do not get me wrong, I think it is great to be proud of your affiliations and achievements.
It is just that it is "over the top" with some attendees or some schools.
I have a friend who started a physical therapy clinic and he went to SC. He hired an excellent therapist from UCLA (who had a UCLA license plate frame). The next day an SC doctor in his building came to him and told him he should not have hired a UCLA person because SC people need to stick together. He even hinted that he should fire him.
I am sure most would agree this is too much.
I know a lot of towns (e.g. Tucson) where college fans associate themselves with schools that they never attended, but it just seems odd to me.
