Crappy engine

Used to work on the 12 cylinder engines for a few years. Sure did pull some pistons and liners on those

Furthermore, everything on these engines is so big - you even need a crane to move tools around. The weight of a cylinder liner is 9060 kg

Even though these are big engines, we still have an additional electrical shaft motor of a measly 9 MW to boost power if/when needed - the single propeller is simply too big

Full speed would set you back some 280 metric tonnes of heavy fuel oil / 24 hours.

My current ship's total fuel capacity is just over 14.000 metric tonnes
