Do I think you would get back the money spent repainting it? no. Do you "want" to sell it or do you "need" to sell it. If you need to sell it then you don't have much choice. Want is different. Want implies you can wait to sell when the market comes back, if you are worried about loosing money on a car that was an "investment".
