If you can afford it get a quality stud welder. As in most purchases you get what you pay for. I have found that cheap stud welders tend to have less heat control and burn through occasionally leaving a hole. No problem if you have a Mig or Tig handy. But its extra time and work. That's why some stud welders cost more. They actually save a body shop money.
