Me neither, but then I'm a

I would take any 60s era vette over any 60's 911.

There are some nice Porsches in the 60s and early 70s. I'd take one of the lightweight or hot motored models

While they were underpowered, the 70's "Mako Shark" Vette's are absolutely gorgeous machines.
The 80s vettes were ugly, i never liked them, but once they put the LT-1's into them around 94 and up, they were damned competitive with anything around for a heck of a lot less money.
The C-5s and up are very pretty cars. I don't really like the "Viper" lights on the latest Vettes, but that's my only complaint with them.

I like the years '56-73 and '82. I'm not a huge fan of the split window and prefer the shape of the '60s with the convertible top to the fastback of the coupe. The next good looking Vette after '82 with the C5. I liked the way the C5 looked. I don't particularly care for the looks of the C6. It's a better car, but not as good looking.

To say that a Porsche holds up long term better than a Vette with equal maintenance is just plain not correct.

I think Porsches are better built and engineered than Corvettes.
Drive what you want for the reason that you want, whatever makes you happy. Corvettes are valid performance vehicles. I don't think that you can knock them for that. They've won races over the years.
You definitely can't knock a Corvette because of it's hairy chested gold chain image. Porsche's have just as much driver-image problem as a Corvette. Poking fun at them is fine assuming it's just for fun or as a friendly rivalry, but when it gets serious is when I scratch my head.
If you're going to pick on a car group, make it the idiot ricers. Not all of them are idiots, but you know the group, the snot nosed idiot bunch that do mods to make their cars LOOK faster, but that actually make the cars GO slower. Those are the idiots that need a good wallop to the back of the head with a 2x4.
